Songs for Lent

Posted at 02:05am on 4th February 2014

You lead us through the wilderness by Sam Hargreaves has proved consistently popular at this time of year. It explores themes of wilderness, fasting, and complete trust as we follow the path of Jesus.

We've got two other songs that would suit the stripped-back musical style often associated with Lent, and which also utter simple words of sacrificial commitment:
All I am I lay it down by Adam Howard
Jesus you have called us by Joel Payne

And if a time of self-denial and simplicity makes you reflect on those around the world who have no luxuries to put aside, you'll find something useful in the list below:
More than gold by Kieran Metcalfe
You are a refuge by Ben Atkins
When our songs by Matt Osgood
The Spirit of the Lord by Sam Hargreaves
