Bright morning star

Added 26th July 2016

Bright morning star,
shine in the darkness,
guide me to where you are.

Bright morning star,
hope in this hard place,
guide me to where you are.

Lord, in the day I falter,
and as the pain takes a hold;
God, let me know your presence
healing my soul.
Then when the storm clouds gather,
and as the waves crash and fall,
God, let me see your goodness
over it all.

Good strong harmonic structure, reasonable melody range for congregational participation. I have difficulty theologically with the idea that we need to be shown where God is as God is always with us whether we recognise this or not. The dark, desperate times are when we find extra support in the fellowship of the 'saints' now and across the ages.
