How to use this site

You can search by writer, lyric or title, in the box above, or if you need a song to fill a gap or reflect a service topic, you can search by theme. Alternatively, just click on titles which attract you on the Songs page, or in our Most Recent or Most Popular boxes on the left.

Listen to lo-fi recordings to see what grabs you, then register a few details to access free scores, chord sheets, and word files for your projection software. There are also hi-fi mp3s of a five piece band playing the songs available, to help get the song in your head and give you ideas for possible arrangements. Want to try the song in rehearsal or a service? Use the "Tell a friend" button to email the link to your worship group or service leader.

Registering also allows you to sign up to email updates, keeping you informed of new songs which we will be adding regularly. If you find this site helpful, please let other people know about us! There is also a 'feedback' button at the bottom of each song, so you can let us know how you get on using them.

RESOUNDworship.org is a free resource. All we ask is that you report any songs used on your annual CCLI licence in the usual way - copyright details are listed for each song. If your church/organisation doesn't have a CCLI licence, visit their website to find out more, or contact our publisher, the Jubilate Group, to attain permission for using individual songs.

Let us kneel at Calvary by Sam Hargreaves Listen

The aim of this song was to draw out some of the deeper significance of the cross of Christ, in a way that grabbed your emotions and inspired a heart response. I wanted to bring in some of the contrasts - he was stripped that we might be robed; drinking our bitter cup whilst he pours out his ‘blood of the covenant’ for us to drink - and also some of the specific details that we often miss in our songs. It moves from cross to resurrection because I’m increasingly struck by the power and hope in Jesus rising from the dead. If you sang this on Good Friday you could intentionally leave the final chorus out and invite people to come and sing it on Easter Sunday!
