Doxecology Family Retreat

Please note, if you book as an individual it is likely you will have to share a room.
Families will be allocated family rooms or neighbouring rooms as appropriate.

Doxecology is our response, as worship songwriters, to the current ecological crisis in the world. We hear about it in the news every day, but in our churches we don't have anything to sing. We need songs that speak of creation, ecology & Christian hope.

So we set to work, both writing new songs and gathering songs from far and wide. And we're getting ready to record an album in April. But for this album, we need you, at our Doxecology Family Retreat.

This retreat, organised by Resound Worship in collaboration with engageworship, is a unique opportunity for families to get away together, and be refreshed and inspired.

You'll also get to help record a groundbreaking new worship album along the way!

Gathered sessions for all ages will focus on our creator God, his creation and our place in it. We’ll mix worship, Bible content, games, craft and more. We’ll be getting outside as much as possible into the beautiful Wydale grounds, exploring nature and getting dirt under our nails.

We’ll see how nature reveals God to us, and explore ways we can treat our environment with more care and delight. These sessions will be led by Sara & Sam Hargreaves, Jeremy & Lou Williams.

Meanwhile, a group of musicians and singers will be rehearsing in the beautiful, light-filled chapel to record the Doxecology album. A couple of times each day the rest of us will pile into the chapel to sing along with them and lend our voices to the organic sound of worship.

Once the younger kids have gone to bed there will be space for adults to go deeper with God. Through each day there will also be free time to do your own thing, and some optional sessions depending on your interests.

Wydale is a perfect venue for this, wonderful hosts, comfortable accommodation, great food and stunning scenery. The retreat will begin at lunchtime on the Tuesday, but it will be possible to arrive later on the Monday evening if that is easier for you as a family. You can also pop to the seaside on Friday after breakfast before you head home!

We're so excited about the whole project and look forward to seeing you in April!
