Worship Songwriting Retreat Midlands 2027

You are invited to join us in early spring 2027 for a three night songwriting retreat at the beautiful House of Bread in Warwickshire.

This prayerful place with its story of renewal is the perfect venue for a creative retreat. A mixture between large group sessions, small group feedback and plenty of free writing time should provide the perfect balance to send you home to your churches with something new to sing.

This retreat is a little bit more intimate and low-key than our annual event at Wydale Hall, with a maximum capacity of 32 people, with its own special character.

Programme

The Retreat runs from dinner on Thursday evening through to Sunday lunch.

A typical day on retreat looks like this

8.00am Breakfast
9.00am All-in Session
10.00am Free writing time
12.00pm Small Feedback Groups
1.00pm Lunch
2.00pm Free writing time
5.00pm Small Feedback Groups
6.00pm Dinner
7.15pm All-in Session
8.30pm Free writing time

The Saturday night will be a Celebration Songshare where we get to hear, and sing together, some of the songs that have been written during the retreat.

No-one will be rushing us out of the venue on the Sunday, so we can really make the most of our time away and don't have to all race off as soon as the official programme has ended.

Accomodation and food

Accommodation is in twin rooms, mostly ensuite, but the Mill contains many other rooms, stairwells, nooks and crannies of us to spill out into. Whether you're cowriting or focusing on a solo project there will be space to do it. Check out this video from the House of Bread to see more of what waits for us.

All meals are included and lunch and dinner will be catered with a bit of build-your-own breakfast where we all muck-in together. We also encourage the bringing of home-made cakes and biscuits to share!

Costs

Twin Room (Shared) £375
One bed in a twin room with an ensuite bathroom, shared with another delegate. You can specify when booking if there is another delegate you would prefer to share with.

All bed linen is provided but you will need to bring towels

Unfortunately there is no ground-level access to bedrooms in the old mill building and all require the use of stairs.

There is a bursary fund available for those for whom the cost would be prohibitive. If you are, or you know of, a songwriter who would benefit from this, please contact us directly. We really want to use the bursary and we'd love to hear from you!

Booking conditions: Payment can be made in full at the time of booking or in two installments with the balance due on 5 February 2027. For cancellations before and including 5 December 2026 a full refund will be given. For cancellations between and including 6 December 2026 and 5 February 2027 a refund of 50% of the total fee will be given. No refunds can be given for cancellations after 5 February. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover your booking in case you should need to make a late cancellation.
