Songs for Christmas
With the festive season fast approaching, we’re delighted to offer a range of songs for use over the Christmas period. We've built up a little collection over the years including two brand new songs: Ring out the bells and Listen to the sound.
We know that many people use new Christmas songs as choir pieces, so there is 4-part harmony version available for each of them. And ad-hoc orchestras are often assembled for carols services, so the first three in the list feature full orchestral and choral arrangements. The choir parts in those versions are a bit more interesting that the straight SATB. And the orchestral parts are built around a guitar or band, so you can use them even if you don't have the full quota of instruments.
But remember, these songs are written with the congregation in mind. We hope you won't just use them in carol services, but will incorporate them into your worship in the build up to Christmas. Teach them early, and slot them in amongst your regular songs, to gradually connect the Christmas festivities with your everyday worship.
