The kindness and the love
of God our Saviour
was born upon the earth
on Christmas day;
it wasn’t by our merit
but for mercy
the Son of God appeared,
his beloved world to save.
The promise of the ages
found its fullness
in the one that we would call
Immanuel;
his life of truth and grace
revealing glory,
the Word of God appeared,
here on earth with us to dwell.
By the tender mercy of God in heaven
Christ the Saviour was born
and the people living in death and darkness
will see the light of his dawn.
He came to seek the lost
and save the sinner,
he came to be the face
of God above,
to suffer as our brother
and our Saviour,
restoring us to God
by his kindness and his love.
